Kennesaw, Ga., January 27, 2011 -- Yamaha Marine Group today announced the 2011 schedule for the Discover VMAX SHO® Demo tour, a national program consisting of high-performance demo rides in 15 markets designed to show the benefits of Yamaha’s VMAX SHO®, an outboard motor that is becoming known as the most capable in the realm of bass fishing.
“The VMAX SHO® Demo Tour allows consumers to see and feel just how game changing these outboards really are,” said Dale Barnes, Yamaha Marine Group Division Manager, Marketing. “The holeshot and midrange punch are unequalled. We can say that, you’ve heard it, but it needs to be experienced, and that’s what this tour is all about.”
The 2011 Discover VMAX SHO® Demo tour debuts Friday, February 18, during the Bassmaster® Classic in New Orleans. The activity will take place at the Bayou Segnette State Park Boat Ramp in Westwego, La. All bass fishing fans in the area are invited to attend for a first-come, first-served opportunity to ride in Skeeter® bass boats equipped with Yamaha VF250LA VMAX SHO® outboards.
In conjunction with The Discover VMAX SHO® Demo tour, for a limited time, Yamaha is offering a special promotion. The first 100 participants each day to take advantage of the demo ride will receive a voucher good for a one-year Yamaha Extended Service contract (Y.E.S.) (choice offered in Florida is a 12-month limited warranty) with an MSRP value of up to $1,500.00. The voucher can be redeemed only after the customer has purchased a new VMAX SHO®. Some restrictions apply. Additional terms and conditions apply. See discovervmaxsho.com for complete details.
At the heart of the VMAX SHO® is an all-new four-stroke 4.2-liter V6 powerhead that provides the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. With considerably more displacement than its competitors, the 4.2-liter outboard employs new materials and processes that help make it lighter, more efficient and powerful.
The VMAX SHO® is 34 pounds lighter than its two-stoke predecessor, the VMAX Series 2, and burns less fuel, about 12 percent less on average. That makes longer runs possible between fill ups, and that could mean the difference between getting to the fish or not. Overall, fuel efficiency is best in class.
The new outboards not only offer better performance, they deliver that performance with the same clean, quiet smooth demeanor four-strokes are famous for. Whether at idle, part or wide open throttle, the VMAX SHO® is smoother and quieter than the VMAX Series 2.
