Kennesaw, Ga., September 30, 2016 – Late Wednesday evening, the United States House of Representatives passed the Water Resources Development Act of 2016 (WRDA) by a vote of 399-25.  The bill now heads to a conference committee to be reconciled with the Senate version, which passed earlier this month.

Yamaha Continues as B.A.S.S. Sponsor Through New Multiyear Agreement

Official Premier Engine Sponsorship extended through 2020

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —B.A.S.S. and Yamaha Marine Group have signed an agreement for Yamaha to continue to sponsor Bassmaster events through 2020.

Yamaha is an Official Premier Engine Sponsor of all B.A.S.S.-owned events. These include the Bassmaster Elite Series, Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens Series, Carhartt® Bassmaster College Series and the grass-roots B.A.S.S. Nation regional tournaments. Also included is the Bassmaster Classic, the annual world championship of bass fishing.

Instinct and Lure Choice Led Lucas to Winning Catch

The way Justin Lucas won the recent Bassmaster® Elite tournament on the Potomac River surprised everyone in the 107-angler field, possibly most of all the Yamaha Pro himself. The weather was hot and humid and fishing on the famous waterway had been poor, but Lucas led all four days of competition and weighed in 72 pounds, 14 ounces of bass, all from a single long boat parking dock.

On Saturday, August 6, 2016, the Ike Foundation®, in conjunction with the Mid-Atlantic Youth Anglers & Outdoors Program, held its first celebrity Pro-Am Bass Tournament, charity dinner and kids fishing fun day on the waterfront in Camden, New Jersey. The goal was to generate funds and awareness for introducing America’s children, especially inner city and disadvantaged youth, to fishing and the outdoors.

Yamaha Pro Justin Lucas Wins Potomac River Bassmaster® Elite

Captures win with four-day total of 72 pounds, 14 ounces

Charles County, Md. – August 15, 2016 – Yamaha Pro Justin Lucas finished Sunday’s Bassmaster® Elite tournament with a catch of 19 pounds, 13 ounces to capture the win on the Potomac River with a four-day total of 72 pounds, 14 ounces.  It was the Guntersville, Ala. angler’s second career Elite victory, after winning in 2015 on the Sacramento River in California.
