The all-new Yamaha 90 hp and 75 hp Midrange four strokes are engineering achievements. Lighter, faster and more powerful than their previous designs, they sport SOHC four-valve-per-cylinder designs that increase volumetric efficiency. They also save weight—13 pounds to be exact. At the same time, they’ve both stepped up to 1.8-liter displacement. Lighter weights, plus more power, creates a thrilling new F75, and makes the F90 a top performer in torque and acceleration. The F90 also features a 25-inch shaft option, which makes it prime power for a range of mid-size boaters and of particular interest to inshore anglers trolling for walleye or muskie on 25-inch-transom multi-species boats. The all-new F90 and F75 Midrange four strokes have stepped up to 1.8-liter displacement and now feature a Single Overhead Camshaft, with four valves per cylinder. That makes them both 13 pounds lighter, and our 90 hp a top performer in both torque and acceleration.
To keep weight down and efficiency up, the F90 and F75 feature a single overhead camshaft, but still deploy four valves per cylinder. That setup means less mass in the cylinder head and reduced weight for the overall outboard. At the same time, four valves per cylinder means great engine combustion, which contributes to horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency.
The displacement on the F90 and F75 has increased to 1.8 liters, with four valves per cylinder. Meanwhile they’ve both dropped 13 pounds. Lighter weight and increased volumetric efficiency, plus increased displacement equals thrilling performance and makes our 90 hp a top performer in acceleration and torque.
More displacement means more torque. The new F90 displaces 1.8 liters versus 1.6 liters over its predecessor, making it not only the quickest F90 from Yamaha, but also the fastest.
Precision Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection delivers the exact amount of fuel needed for optimum performance and efficiency. Yamaha’s EFI optimizes fuel atomization further enhancing fuel economy.
The new 90 hp and 75 hp four strokes are California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.) Three-Star Rated for Ultra-Low Emissions. This also meets federal EPA requirements.
TCI Microcomputer Ignition monitors throttle position, engine speed and atmospheric conditions in order to precisely adjust ignition timing under all conditions for optimum ignition performance, ensuring smooth and reliable operation.
The F90 and F75 feature three-phase alternators that produce up to 35 amps of power. That's 40 percent more output than previous designs. So there’s plenty of electrical power for battery charging and accessories, with more to spare.
The all-new 90-hp four stroke offers a 25-inch shaft option, making it a great choice for inshore anglers with 25-inch-transom boats, such as walleye fishermen. It’s also compatible with propellers featuring our Shift Dampening System (SDS™)—for quieter fishing.
The F90 and F75 feature Yamaha’s Variable Trolling RPM Switch (VTS®), which allows for precious adjustment of trolling speeds from 550 to 1000 RPM in 50-RPM increments, and even sub-idle trolling. This is a major plus for anglers.
A Freshwater Flush Device allows you to flush the engine without starting it, for maximum convenience, durability and engine life.
Yamaha’s award winning Multi-Function Tiller Handle incorporates engine start/stop, emergency stop, gear shift, power trim and tilt operation, variable trolling switch, warning and controls all in one.
The F90 and F75 are both compatible with Yamaha’s Command Link® 6Y8 and 6YC digital gauges. The new outboards are also compatible with the Yamaha Customer Outboard Protection (Y-COP®), the Yamaha theft-deterrent system.
The F90C and F75 design is equipped with a single compact, lightweight Power Trim and Tilt (PTT) unit. The tilt angle can be adjusted with the optional tilt limiter.
Allows certain engine and boat data to be displayed on NMEA-2000® compatible displays that are external to the Yamaha system. Two models are available, one for Command Link Plus® and one for Command Link®.
The F90 and F75 are now compatible with Y-COP®, the Yamaha theft-deterrent system. This optional security feature disables the ignition system via an operator-controlled key FOB.
Yamaha’s Wide-Span Mounting System helps reduce vibration by spreading the motor mounts as far apart as possible, both horizontally and vertically. Together with specially designed, rubber motor mounts, it helps to lessen the amount of vibration that is transmitted to the boat.
An external drain plug allows easy access for draining the oil from the engine, while your boat is on a trailer.
Both the F90 and F75 are compatible with several Yamaha propellers, including some featuring our exclusive Shift Dampener System (SDS™). This absorbs the force and noise associated with shifting, for a smoother, quieter ride.
Located in the lower unit, this removes metal particles from the gear oil and prevents gear-case damage.
The F90 and F75 use a pressurized oil delivery system and incorporates a compact and durable oil pump to keep all of the moving parts of the SOHC system lubricated and running smoothly for maximum reliability.
The all-new 1.8-liter I-4 F90 features greater displacement and a single-overhead-camshaft design with four valves per cylinder. This boosts power and volumetric efficiency and streamlines design. In fact, it’s 13 pounds lighter than previous designs. A lighter, more powerful design gives the F90 blistering speed that’s 1.5 mph faster than competing outboards.*
