Ga. — B.A.S.S. and Yamaha Marine Group have signed an agreement for Yamaha to continue to sponsor Bassmaster events through 2016. Yamaha is an Official Premier Engine Sponsor of all B.A.S.S.-owned events. These include the Bassmaster Elite Series, Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens Series, Carhartt® Bassmaster College Series and the grass-roots B.A.S.S. Nation regional tournaments. Also included is the Bassmaster Classic, the annual world championship of bass fishing. Yamaha Marine Group, based in Georgia, markets and supports a full line of four-stroke outboards for bass and other boats. B.A.S.S., based in Alabama, is the most prestigious fishing tournament organization in the world, as well as a membership organization of more than 500,000 avid bass anglers. ”At Yamaha, we build the most reliable way to get to the fish,” said Dale Barnes, Yamaha Marine Group division manager of marketing. “We are proud of that, and we are excited to have the best venue in the sport of bass fishing where we can demonstrate it all season long. We are happy to have signed with B.A.S.S., which provides spectators with the opportunity to get up close and learn from team Yamaha anglers, or to compete themselves. There is nothing else like it.” “B.A.S.S. is proud to continue with Yamaha as one of our valuable sponsors,” said Bruce Akin, CEO of B.A.S.S. “As leaders in the fishing industry, Yamaha and B.A.S.S. are able to promote the sport together in a way that makes a difference.” At Bassmaster events, Yamaha showcases its V MAX SHO® outboard built to power bass boats. One of Yamaha’s many top-name pros, Brandon Palaniuk of Rathdrum, Idaho, just last Sunday won the Evan Williams Bourbon Showdown at St. Lawrence River out of Waddington, N.Y. Fishing fans are able to experience the V MAX SHO’s performance capabilities by taking a free ride through the Yamaha Demo Tour conducted at the Bassmaster Classic and during Elite Series events. The program allows bass fishing fans to experience the power of a Yamaha V MAX SHO outboard. “We just witnessed once again how Yamaha is able to reach anglers through Bassmaster events: Fans were lined up to take a V MAX SHO demo ride last weekend at the Elite Series event in Waddington,” Akin said. Yamaha also reaches fishing fans through other B.A.S.S. properties. They include “The Bassmasters” TV show, Bassmaster and B.A.S.S. Times magazines and Bassmaster.com.
