Yamaha’s Jet Drive four strokes, can boldly go where no propped outboard would dare. Shallows. Rocky-bottom rivers. Shoals. White-water rapids. They’d all prove treacherous for a propeller-driven outboard, but a jet drive is all over it. Prop-free, you can “off-road” without worrying about breaking a prop on rocks and other underwater obstructions. So, while you may be giving up the prop, you’re gaining a whole lot of freedom, with powerful, fuel efficient Yamaha Jet Drives available in 150, 115, 90, 60 and 40 horsepower.
With no gearcase or propeller extending below the hull, a jet drive allows you to maneuver around or pass over obstructions that would limit the travel of a conventional propeller-driven outboard. And with electronic multi-point fuel injection, you get lots of responsive power with fuel-sipping efficiency.
Precision Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection delivers the exact amount of fuel needed for optimum performance and efficiency. Yamaha’s EFI optimizes fuel atomization further enhancing fuel economy.
Single or Double Overhead Camshaft platforms provide lighter weight, impressive acceleration and better fuel efficiency.
Microcomputer Ignition adjusts timing to maintain optimum engine performance, economy and power under all conditions.
The Composite Intake Manifold on Yamaha's Jet Drive F150, F115, F90, F60 and F40 feature long tube intake tracks, tuned to increase airflow. This boosts low-end and midrange torque for a more powerful hole shot and increased acceleration. Even with all this responsive power, an air silencer box and surge tank reduce air intake noise and air turbulence for smooth, quiet operation.
Combined with our proprietary alloy (YDC-30), our exclusive Phaze Five™ anti-corrosive paint system provides a tough, five-layer barrier against corrosion. This protection is standard on all Yamaha Jet Drive four stroke outboards.
Our 2.7-liter F150 Jet Drive four stroke produces 105 hp at the pump. It features a DOHC, 16-valve design with four valves per cylinder and long tube intake tracks. This produces ample power for navigating shallow, rocky water.
Our 1.8-liter F115 Jet Drive four stroke produces 80 hp at the pump. Its compact, light-weight DOHC design features 16-valves with four valves per cylinder and long tube intake tracks. This produces ample power for deck boats and deep-V hulls navigating shallow, rocky rivers.
Our completely redesigned, 1.8-liter F90 Jet Drive four stroke produces 65 hp at the pump. Its compact, light-weight SOHC four-cylinder, in-line design features a long-track induction system and Yamaha’s proprietary YDC-30 aluminum alloy. This creates a light, compact, powerful outboard for deck boats and deep-V hulls navigating shallow, rocky rivers.
Our 1-liter F60 Jet Drive four stroke produces 40 hp at the pump. Its compact, light-weight SOHC four-cylinder, in-line design features a single throttle valve and long-track induction system. This creates a light, compact, powerful outboard and improves throttle response.
Our 747-cc F40 Jet Drive four stroke produces 30 hp at the pump. Its compact, light-weight SOHC three-cylinder, in-line design features a long-track induction system and a single throttle valve. This creates compact, light-weight power and improves throttle response.
† Weight refers to shortest shaft length, and is measured without motor oil, gearcase oil and propeller (except models 25 hp and under, which include a standard propeller). All Jet model weights include the jet pump assembly (weight estimated).
