Fresh chicken livers make excellent bait for channel and blue catfish. They ooze fluid and scent that catfish can detect from a long distance. When fishing a small area for catfish, toss a few liver scraps into the water to bring in more whiskerfish. The only problem with livers, they fall off the hook easily. To toughen up livers so they stay on the hook longer, but still attract catfish, microwave them for a minute or two.
