KENNESAW, Ga., July 2, 2019 — Yamaha Marine announced today the addition of a new V MAX SHO® 200 X-Shaft model and three new, even-pitch XTO OS® propellers for the powerful V8 XTO Offshore®. The new outboard and propellers expand customer options to offer more diverse boating applications in fresh and saltwater.
“Boaters and anglers want outboard power solutions that fine-tune performance and create optimal experiences on the water,” said Ben Speciale, President, Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit. “With the additions of the V MAX SHO 200 X-Shaft and the new XTO OS propellers, more options are available to a wider variety of boaters – all of them carrying Yamaha’s trademark performance, power and reliability.”
The 4.2-liter V6 V MAX SHO 200 X-Shaft is the latest addition to the family that changed the game for high-performance four-stroke outboards. While originally envisioned bass boat power solutions, V MAX SHO outboards have found a following among many other boaters as well. The X-Shaft models, which include the V MAX SHO 250, 175, 150, 115 and 90 X-Shaft models, feature a 25-inch shaft perfect for pontoon and multispecies boats. Light-weight, fuel efficient and quiet, the entire V MAX SHO line boasts unparalleled hole shot and can be easily rigged with the boater’s choice of analog, 6Y5 digital or Command Link® gauges. The new V MAX SHO 200 X-Shaft expected availability is this summer.
In order to help fine-tune the performance of the revolutionary V8 XTO Offshore outboard, Yamaha has added 18, 20 and 22-inch even pitches of its exclusive XTO OS propeller. Designed to harness the immense torque potential of the
XTO Offshore, XTO OS propellers use a very large diameter and specially designed blade surface area to move today’s largest boats. The propellers work as part of a system to produce massive thrust in both forward and reverse. In fact, the XTO Offshore and the XTO OS propeller together can produce up to 300 percent more reverse thrust than Yamaha’s previous V8 engine, the F350. The new even pitch XTO OS propellers are available now.
