The Yamaha 70 hp, 60 hp and 50 hp Midrange four strokes are the go-to outboards for family, fishing and fun. Light and powerful, they sport 1-liter displacement, single-overhead-camshaft designs and electronic fuel injection. They deliver quick starts, high performance and incredible efficiency for aluminum fishing boats, pontoons and fiberglass boats. They also offer incredible trolling flexibility with Yamaha’s exclusive Variable Trolling RPM Switch. Available on the F70, F60 and F50, this allows anglers to adjust trolling speeds in 50-RPM increments. The Yamaha Midrange 70-, 60- and 50-hp four strokes. Solid choices for any boater.
A Single Overhead Camshaft (SOHC) on the F70, F60 and F50 provides a compact, lightweight, space-saving design.
Precision Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection delivers the exact amount of fuel needed for optimum performance and efficiency. Yamaha’s EFI optimizes fuel atomization further enhancing fuel economy.
A Composite Intake Manifold features long tube intake tracks, tuned to increase airflow, which boost low-end and midrange torque. This means a more powerful hole shot and increased acceleration. Even with all this responsive power, an air silencer box and surge tank reduce air intake noise and air turbulence for smooth, quiet operation.
A TCI microcomputer ignition adjusts timing to maintain optimal engine performance, economy and power under all operating conditions.
All air entering the engine block is routed through a single throttle valve, to ensure the precise amount of air necessary for optimum power and fuel efficiency. It then enters each cylinder through individual long intake tracks, which are 'pulse tuned' to provide air at the precise volume and timing for maximum density and power.
The impressive F70 Midrange weighs in at up to 80 pounds lighter than its competitors, giving it class-leading power-to-weight. Its siblings, the F60 and F50, also boast the same, ingenious engineering, with fewer horses.
Combined with our proprietary alloy (YDC-30), our exclusive Phaze Five™ electro-deposited, anti-corrosive paint system provides a tough, five-layer barrier against corrosion. This protection is standard on all the Yamaha Midrange 70-, 60- and 50-horsepower four strokes.
Our 1-liter 70-hp midrange features a two-piece upper case and 10 percent lighter pistons. It’s up to 80 pounds lighter than other four-stroke competitors and the class-leader in power-to-weight. Combined with its 16-valve SOHC design and 17 percent larger intakes, and it’s one of the most responsive outboards on the water.
Our 1-liter 60-hp midrange offers light weight and exhilarating performance. A dynamite choice for the inshore angler, it gives you the option of dialing in trolling speeds in precise, 50-RPM increments. Depending on your gauge and control preference, the F60 allows you to access to our Variable Trolling RPM Switch (VTS®) via our Multi-Function Tiller Handle, Command Link® Tachometer or our new, helm-mounted remote VTS switch.
For inshore fishing performance in a few less horses, turn to Yamaha’s 1-liter 50-hp midrange. Inspired by the F70’s ingenious design, it combines light weight, exhilarating performance, valuable efficiency and the option of variable trolling via our Multi-Function Tiller Handle, Command Link® Tachometer or our new, helm-mounted remote Variable Trolling RPM Switch (VTS®).
† Weight refers to shortest shaft length, and is measured without motor oil, gearcase oil and propeller (except models 25 hp and under, which include a standard propeller). All Jet model weights include the jet pump assembly (weight estimated).
