The In-Line Four V MAX SHO four strokes have achieved the unthinkable—packing signature V MAX SHO hole shot and acceleration into streamlined designs. This powerful family now includes the all-new I-4 V MAX SHO 90, which packs the biggest punch of any 90-horse on the water. Overall, this series of 1.8- and 2.8-liter dynamos features a surprising tech package with 16 valves, single- or double-overhead cams and electronic fuel injection—for maximum efficiency and high performance. This makes the I-4 V MAX SHOs perfect for smaller bass, flats and bay boats and other performance hulls. All In-Line Four V MAX SHO® outboards are now available with 25-inch shafts. This brings V MAX SHO performance to multi-species boats, bay boats, pontoons and other 25-inch transom applications.

The V MAX SHO® 175 and 150 feature Variable Camshaft Timing, which optimizes the angle of the intake camshaft to increase power and throttle response in the low- and mid-RPM ranges.

In-line Four V MAX SHO® designs are up to 40% more fuel efficient than traditional carbureted two strokes.

Optimum Power

V MAX In-line 4 115 hp
The I-4 V MAX SHO 115 is Yamaha’s fastest 115-hp four stroke, ever, with a top speed of nearly 51 mph.* On top of its impressive speed, it features tech unheard of in its class, including a long-track intake system, free-flow exhaust and knock sensor.

V MAX In-line 4 90 hp
The All-New VF90 In-Line Four V MAX SHO. A single-overhead-camshaft design with four valves per cylinder and 1.8-liter displacement make the I-4 V MAX SHO 90 a class leader in torque, top speed and efficiency. Even still, it's one of the quietest 90-horsepower outboards on the water. That makes for some pretty stealthy fishing.
